Meet the 2021 Executive
At the Beta Alpha Psi USYD Chapter, we have a small but dedicated team of executives who not only serve to organise and provide events for our members but also act as a voice for the Oceania Chapters amongst the broader Beta Alpha Psi International Organisation.
Rhys is currently studying a Commerce/Law degree, majoring in Finance. He was introduced to BAP in 2019 and hasn't looked back since, experiencing success in both domestic and overseas competitions on offer. Make sure to reach out to him if you are wondering how to make the most of these opportunities! Outside of uni, Rhys loves playing soccer and exploring new places.
Sam joined BAP as a second year Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced student before joining the Marketing and Events subcommittees, becoming the inaugural Communications director, and now serving as Co-President for 2020/21. Between AFL games, beach days, and Euro summers, Sam plans to be a committed leader who steers BAP towards making an even greater impact on our chapter’s membership base. Sam’s never short on conversation and loves having interesting chats with new people, so be sure to tap him on the shoulder at the next BAP event
Richard has been with BAP Usyd for 2 years now and thrived as competitions director in 2020. With awards in Project Run with It, Gold Challenge and Inclusive Leadership he hopes to support the ongoing and rich history of the Sydney chapter. While fulfilling his role as senior director, Richard will be entering his fourth and final year of a Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Advanced Studies with majors in Finance & International Business. He hopes to go on to work in management consultancy and will be spending the 2020 Summer interning for Kearney in the Strategic Operations team.
Communications & Careers Director
Angel is the Communications and Careers Director for BAP in 2021. After experiencing a great 2020 with BAP as a subcommittee member, she has stayed on board to continue managing BAP’s long-term branding strategy and increase digital outreach across all of BAP USYD’s social media platforms. Although Angel is studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Accounting, she previously studied architecture for one year and still enjoys pursuing various creative arts in her leisure time. Maya joined BAP in 2020, working on both the events and marketing portfolios. She is studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Advanced Studies, majoring in Accounting and Finance. Maya comes from the Blue Mountains and enjoys bushwalking and spending time with her pets. She is very approachable and always up for a chat!
Emma is the Marketing Director for Beta Alpha Psi, committing to expand the influence of BAP. She is a second-year student studying Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney, majoring in Finance and Accounting. Outside of university, she is passionate about Foreign Exchange investment, travelling, and enjoying food. She loves discovering new experiences and meeting new people, so feel free to reach out to her if you've got any questions!
Jason is the current Sponsorship Director for Beta Alpha Psi and is studying a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Economics. When not at uni, Jason works part time at an investment bank and loves all things cars, food and travel. Be sure to reach out to Jason for guidance on how to make the most of your time with BAP or uni in general!
Sunanda spent her first year in 2019 attending BAP events and joined the sub- committee in 2020, and is the 2021 Competitions director. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Laws majoring in accounting. In her free time, she enjoys reading both fiction and non – fiction books and making accounting puns with her friends. Please feel free to chat to her about the many merits of joining BAP, and to hear about the inclusive and welcoming culture of the society.
Kieran is our Membership Director for 2020. He is undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and Professional Accounting. Still in his first year of university and juggling a full-time job as an accountant, outside of uni you’ll catch him at the footy or the pub. Kieran will be handling all new membership and subcommittee applications, so if you’ve got any questions, feel free to say hi.
Janine teaches financial and management Accounting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has been the recipient of a number of teaching awards. Prior to joining academia Janine worked as an accountant for a number of leading Australian and Global organisations including those in banking, oil & gas, television and telecommunications. Her experience has been gained in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia.
The Faculty Advisor role involves mentoring the chapter, providing references so good that potential employers not only want to hire, but also adopt, Beta Alpha Psi students and being an enthusiastic (but not before 10am) and supportive member of the team. Janine believes no member of BAP should ever leave one of our events hungry.
Lily is a Co-Chair of BAP for 2021, following her role as the chapter Co-President in 2020 and Competitions Director in 2019. She is currently studying a Commerce/Law degree, majoring in Accounting. She very much enjoys meeting new people and is always keen for a chat - so definitely come say hi to her and be sure to ask her all about her BAP experiences at our next event! In her spare time, she enjoys exploring art galleries and museums, watching movies and taking long walks down the beach.
After a successful role as President in 2019, and Co-Chair in 2020, Jeff will be continuing his work with Beta Alpha Psi as a Co-Chair in 2021. Last year, Jeff represented Australia in the 2020 Global CFA Institute Research Challenge Team, and became the first Australian team to ever win the competition as world champions. Jeff proudly flies the BAP flag everywhere he goes. He is a very down to earth and caring person, and is always free to have a chat about absolutely anything. Jeff studies a peculiar combination of Physics, Economics and Finance - ask him why! On the side, Jeff works as an employee within Asset Management at a major investment bank. He is also passionate about analytical & scientific communication in the workforce, along with financial literacy for all. Say hi to Jeff and he will gladly show you yet another opportunity on offer!
